Leaky, Yucky, No Good Faucet

The kitchen faucet that was installed when we bought the house was really too short for the large double sink.  It didn't turn very easily and there was no sprayer like the one I had at the old house.  Those are a few of the reasons that we chose to replace this faucet but the reason it became a priority project is because we found out it was leaking.

Here is a picture of it from the home inspection, before we took ownership:

Gotta love all the junk that the previous owner left out all over the place.  I guess he was brushing his teeth in the kitchen?

We needed a faucet and we needed one fast so our first stop was amazon.com.  We searched by highest rated and most popular, read some reviews and picked my top three favorites and set off to Home Depot to see them in person. As it turned out they only had one of them, thank goodness it was my favorite one! I loved that it's kind of traditional but not too much of a fashion piece that it will go out of style any time soon.

And here it is installed in its new home:

Here you can see the spray wand detaches from rest of the faucet so you can spray water wherever you need. The black part is magnetic and ensures that it stays in place when you don't want it moved around.

Here is a picture of the back side of the spray wand.  It has two options: a steady stream and spray.

So far we love it.  The height of the arch makes it very easy for cleaning large pots and pans and even kids.  ;-) Our finger painting project went very wrong the other other day and Tyler got to play in the sink for a while.  I think he approves of the new addition, too.
