When bad landscaping happens to good people

I ALMOST feel bad posting about my neighbor because he's such a nice person...almost.  I've been wanting to take these pictures of his "updates" for a while but he was always in the front yard working.  Last time the Husband and I were walking he stopped us to tell us that the city had given him 3 infraction warnings and declared his front yard a public nucance.  He said he had to get out there and finish some of his projects because the next infraction would carry a hefty fine.  Hmmm...I guess we are not the only ones that find his yard a HOT MESS.

Without further adue, here are the updates.  You can judge for yourself:

Back to the grind...

Our relaxing weekend is over.  We had a great time at the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay.  We were greeted at check in with a mimosa for the Husband and a sparking grape juice for me.  We decided to change into bathing suits right away and lounge by the pool for the afternoon.  I planned to do some blogging from there but I was too relaxed and fell asleep!  Here was the view from my chair:

Here is a picture from Jeff's chair:

Not the greatest picture but I forgot my camera and had to use my cell phone camera.  There were tons of kids at the resort but they were all well behaved and quite amusing to watch and listen to.  They had tons of fun on that water slide in the background.  We decided to try a few restaurants that were not on the Hyatt property (the reviews on the food at the Hyatt were not so great).  We ate at Jimmie & Sook's for lunch.  Food was great and very reasonably priced.  All their seafood is local MD seafood.  We really liked this place, so much in fact, we went back again on Sunday for dinner before heading home.
We wanted to eat at Bistro Poplar for dinner and even made reservations to do so earlier in the day.  We showed up at the right time and were told (by a snotty hostest) that we didn't have a reservation that they person we spoke to on the phone put us on a waiting list?!?  I was really disappointed, their menu on line looks amazing and they got great reviews.  After dealing with their attitude and unprofessional handling of their mix up we decided to go somewhere else for dinner and settled on CanvasBack's.  Their food was mediocre at best (very salty) and the place smelled gross.  We sat in the pub section and could hear the cook screaming at our waitress.  Then their entertainment started - a woman singing and playing piano.  Sounded like a drag queen on crack.  We were laughing as we left because they had speakers outside the restaurant and all you could hear was the singers voice - you didn't even have the piano to drown out the awfulness!!
We drove back to the resort and had smores by the fire (every night they light the outdoor chimney and you can purchase a packet of smores supplies in the gift shop.  It was nice and relaxing.  There was  a wedding reception going on at one of the pools so we had music in the back ground.
The next day we lounged by the pool and played a game of mini golf.

All in all, a successful weekend of relaxation and bliss!  Now back to the grind....work, birth classes, glucose test, pediatrician interviews....

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend away...

Somehow I was able to score a one night stay at any Hyatt in the world for free.  Since we have limited funds with the little one coming we decided not to travel too far so we will be staying at the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, MD this weekend.  I'm looking forward to relaxing pool side with a (virgin) pina colada!

They give you a smores package at check in so you can roast your own smores by the fire after dark here:

Nursery Art Work

Since I have been getting the nursery together I have been looking online, mostly at Etsy, for some Nautical artwork.  Below are some of the items I  have come accross that I like and feel like would work in that room and coordinate nicely with the theme.  The first one is my absolute favorite.

Nursery Progress

We are slowly buying our furniture to complete the nursery. We had new carpet installed about a month ago, purchased and assembled the crib about 2 weeks ago, and painted the closet green. I'm so excited to see my plan come together!

Since the walls are painted a soft grey color (sterling by Behr) I wanted a pop of color in the closet. We chose garland green by Benjamin Moore.

Here is a pic of the closet:

Jeff putting together the crib. I especially like the last one - it looks like he is stuck under there - lol!

Checking in: 28 Weeks

I am officially in my third trimester this week! Very exciting for me.

How far along? 28 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I've lost count but Dr. says I'm good!

Maternity clothes? definitely yes

Stretch marks? no

Sleep: still pretty good but getting harder to turn over.

Best moment this week: Making it to the end of a 5k walk in DC. I think I will be taking it easy from this point on. My legs are sore!

Movement: yes, I love it!

Food cravings: still Chocolate Milk. I was worried about all the high fructose corn syrup I was ingesting by drinking all this chocolate milk (seriously, at least a glass a day) so I found an alternative brand sold at our local MOM's grocery store called Santa Cruz. It's not exactly healthy but at least I have an alternative. I've been switching off every other day.

Gender: BOY!!!!

Labor Signs: no

Belly Button in or out? still in

What I miss: sushi!!!

What I am looking forward to: getting a few items knocked off my to-do list (birth classes, newborn baby class, Child Infant CPR class)

Other Updates: We found a day care provider! Finally! This, by far, has been the most difficult baby related task for us.
