OBX Vacation

We had such a great time with our friends in OBX.  It was definitely not a relaxing vacation, but it was tons of fun!  The kiddos had us up at 6:00 AM every morning and we tried (and mostly failed) to stay up late to have some fun without the kids.  Our days were filled with lots of trips to the beach, back to the house for lunch, back to the beach, then to the pool.

Our lovely house

We booked through Brindley Beach Vacations and got an amazing deal.  Overall, our experience with them was great. We were missing an outdoor gas grill when we got there and they came right out with a brand new one about an hour later - now that is service!
Each family took one night to prepare a meal.  Our night was grilled steak and chicken tacos with homemade key lime pie for desert.

Mmmm...key lime pie about to go in the oven!

We even made it to the Wright Brothers Museum on our way back from taking Tyler to the urgent care center in Kitty Hawk.

Turned out he had a double ear infection, poor little guy.

Waiting to be seen by the doctor. Doesn't he look so sad?

It was a great vacation and we are already looking forward to next year!

Tyler's 1st Birthday Planning: The Idea Board

Can you tell I like the color blue?  More specifically teal.  I think it is becoming my go-to color.  Seriously, it does go with everything!

Here is the idea board for the party:

Invitations for a Bridal Shower

Here are some invitations I created for a friend's Indian themed bridal shower.  Names have been changed:

Tyler's 1st Birthday Planning

My little man is turning one and the party planning started a while ago.  I've decided on a fish/under the sea theme.  First things first: the invite.  I designed it in MS PowerPoint:

Next up an idea board for the theme.  I always create an idea board to see how everything is going to fit together.  Sometimes ideas you have in your head just don't come together the way you thought they would.  It's always good to have a visual.

Vacation....all I ever wanted...

Anyone remember that fabulous 80's song?  Anyway...we've been having a blast and relaxing a little here in sunny Florida.  Here's a little of what we have been up to the last few days:

Playing peek-a-boo
 Reading with Gramma
 Swiming
Fireworks for the 4th of July
 Hanging by the pool
 More swimming

 Playing in the fountains

 Posing by the pool
 Playing at the beach
Playing in the waves
 Crawling towards the moon
Watching the NASA Space Shuttle Atlantis Lift Off

 Rearranging Gramma's cabinets

Playing with Grampa and Cha-Cha

Tyler's 11 Month Stats

It's so hard to believe it's been almost a year that I've had my little Tman in tow everywhere I go.  Even looking at that picture I can see how much he has changed.  He looks so much older!

Bedtime: still 8:30pm.

Wake Up Time: 6:30/7:00am.

Naps: He seems to be pushing his morning naps back a bit from 9AM to 10:30/11:00AM and taking only one 3 hour nap.  Sometimes he will fit in another 1 hour nap around 4-5PM.

Bottles: 6 ounce bottles of formula 5 times a day

Meals/Solids: He eats solids 3 times a day plus snacks of puffs, teething biscuits, or frozen bananas. He also drinks water mixed with apple juice out of a sippy cup 1-2 times a day.  Lately I have been making Popsicles out of organic mango juice to help his sore gums.

New Foods: water through a straw in a regular glass.  He still loves guacamole!

Developmental Milestones & "Firsts": He still balances on two feet for several seconds and will walk holding onto my hands but not by himself.  Lately he has been crab walking (on his hands and feet instead of knees).  He plays hide and seek and patty cake.

Favorite Toys: His new slide.  He likes to climb up the slide then slide down on his belly.
